This isn't the time or place too rehash the marketing fiasco that was the the Ford Edsel. I think all out hearts go out to this poor, abandoned, cartoon car. Obviously, not everything Pixar does makes the cut; their standards are high, and movie audiences are definitely the winners as a result. Unfortunately Edna here may be one of the losers; another showbiz casualty. Or perhaps not. This may be a discarded character created by one of the most accomplished animation studios in the world, or a Papier Mâché prop from a school play -- it's hard to say. Click the images to enlarge.

Saw this in the far, West-bound lane of West Broadway, stopped at a red light before Granville Street. The flash from the camera totally caught the driver's attention. He looked at me. I gave him a happy wave. He waved back, so, it's not like I took his picture, and published it without permission, is it?

This cheerful little throat lozenge of a car, is, I discover, a BMW Isetta from the late 1950s. Do a search, there are loads of neat images. I've personally kind of lost interest, now that I have the photo, which you can click to see a larger version.
