Guess Santa's flying in as usual.[/caption]

Reminds me of a cinnamon candy called Red Hots I liked when I was a kid. Click the images to enlarge them.

A busy Christmas display. Good sound and animation; needs some tinsel.[/caption]

A cry for help. Spruce and Broadway.[/caption]
Apartment renters can't begin to compete with home owners when it comes to Christmas displays, so as far as Christmas lights go in the Fairview neighbourhood, I have to say rush hour on Broadway Avenue is as good as it gets. But I do agree with the drivers, they could do with more green lights. Click the images to enlarge them.

Pretty light for an old steel-frame bicycle -- Ho ho ho![/caption]
This bike has been a decorative fixture on it's particular block in Mount Pleasant for as long as I can remember. And I mean fixture -- no need to lock it up, the wheel rims are buried in the soil.
Most of the year it serves as a planter, but over the Christmas holidays, just like the tree branches, the fence pickets, and the window sashes, this bicycle -- as you can see -- gets it's own string of lights. Click the image to enlarge.

Just off Cambie Street there's a sight to warm a Prairie boy's heart – the traditional Christmas lights on the tractor.
Why, I can still remember the Christmas when Uncle Elmer got all liquored-up and decided to put the lights on the the Massey Ferguson on a particularly moonless night during a snowstorm. Turned out, not only was corn whiskey a good conductor of electricity but it's effects could render a person insensible to electrocution. That was our "Christmas by candlelight."
You may think there's not a word of truth in that story but remember, Prairie folks do not lie, at least not about the weather – it really was snowing. Click the image to enlarge it.
We've seen this tractor before ►
