Pulled this more-or-less functional music box out of a Fairview dumpster a few days ago. This is the first music box I've ever found in the lanes. A fellow I see in McDonalds told me his mother had a music box back in the 1960s which looked very much like this one. He thought the psychedelic disc was probably taken from another 196os-era music box to replace a figure which, he said, would've been in this one originally. Here's a short clip of it playing it's slow, halting tune. Almost like something out of a Sergio Leone spaghetti western.[soundcloud url="http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/95957449" iframe="true" /]
