The Sun is so weak this time of year; it's brightest winter glare doesn't hold a candle to what it can do on a cloudy summer day. It can't even chase the Moon from the daytime sky. Click the image to enlarge.
The edge of this cloud bank brings to mind -- mine at least -- a rainbow, but I don't think "cloudbow" has a linguistic future. Click the images to enlarge them.
Only a person born and bred on the Prairies would be so small-minded as to compare a beautiful, vibrant, Vancouver sunset to the colour of canned salmon but there it is. These technicolor evening productions always make me feel small -- in a good way.
I just know we're in for some awesome sunsets, and big harvest moons -- hopefully this will do for now. On the viewer's right is a special brick apartment building. For a long time, I thought it dated to 1938. Now, I've been told it was build sometime around 1910. The resident who told me that, went on to say it was built by a family who planned to make it a present to their son when he came back from "the war" -- the Great War; World War I. Unfortunately, I didn't find out if the son came back. There will be at least one more more post about this "Centenarian" building -- it has the coolest "back yard," and I'm told, inside there's a spiral staircase and stained glass skylight that has to be seen to be believed.
