Hoar frost dominated my waking world. Everything -- cars, walls and roads -- was covered with with a layer of the delicate ice crystals, both crunchy and slippery underfoot. An overnight empire.
By 8 a.m. the frost was in full retreat -- it didn't take much apparently.
