Signs of redness may accompany a Fall

Posted by Unknown

This flare of Fall colour is not as common in Vancouver as it is across the rest of Canada, where Fall, as I recall, is signified by almost all the tree leaves turning ruddy shades and then falling off. In Vancouver, we only get patches of redness, as if Fall is a kind of rash. Much of the city's green is evergreen. Consider the very common Red Alder tree; despite it's name, it's leaves always stay green -- one day, they just fall off the tree, but they never turn red. And that's mildly funny because the tree pictured here is obviously not an Alder tree, but it is a tree along Alder Street. Click the images to enlarge them.
