So confusing. Does it still get you drunk -- the beer I mean.[/caption]
I'm not a beer drinker, but there's something about Stanley Park beer which catches my attention. Following behind one of their delivery trucks today, I became almost fixated on the convoluted "green" marketing in the messaging on the back of the truck. The top-most line "Sustainably Brewed," is clear enough, but, though it's on the top, it's dark enough that I read it third. What caught my eye first was, "Wind Powered." What was? The truck?
Ninety-nine-point-nine times out of a hundred, the word "powered" on a vehicle is part of a boast about what's powering the vehicle: "Electric Powered;" or, "This vehicle is, fill-in-the-blank, Powered;" or "Powered by blank." Okay, fine. In this one case, they mean the product -- the beer is wind powered? No, the production of the beer is wind powered!
The "Bio Diesel" statement at the bottom isn't prefixed "Powered by," and the other statement referred to the beer, not the truck, so maybe this beer is made with bio-diesel? Why not? Cars can run on ethanol, and the alcohol in beer is ethanol, and ... and ... I think my brain need a little lie down. Click the image to enlarge.
