Crappy chickadee photos

Posted by Unknown
looking at these photos, I took yesterday, of a little black-capped chickadee, maybe I can solve a mystery. It was sitting so calmly in the middle of a alley, for so long, I was able to get within a foot of it, and snap quite a few pictures. It did look at me, placidly, from time to time, but was otherwise so stolid, I began to worry if it was injured. Not to worry, as soon as I put the camera in my pocket, it was gone in a flash.

Now, looking at the, admittedly, poor-quality snaps, mostly using the zoom, It looks like the bird was ... taking a dump? I thought all birds just let 'er rip, preferably over people and black cars, but the photographic evidence is compelling. I feel kind of bad. Maybe the little bird took so long because I was watching, you know -- a watched pot never boils, and all that. I'll be more sensitive in the future. Click on a image to see them gallery-style.
