Evidence of a little drug lab?

Ephedrine bottles

This is what I saw when I opened one container blue bin today; lots of empty Ephedrine bottles. I can't say for certain what use the contents of all these bottles were put to -- there are legitimate medical uses, and illicit uses, most notably, the production of methamphetamine.

Ephedrine, by itself, is said to improve concentration, and help with memory work, making it popular among students studying for exams. Athletes have been known to use it to improve endurance during workouts. But, by far, it's most common, and notorious, "other" use, is as a chemical precursor in the illicit manufacture of methamphetamine. Chemically, Ephedrine is methamphetamine, with a pesky extra bit, which can removed using other chemicals, such as anhydrous ammonia, which is all kinds of dangerous.

While I can't say this bin of Ephedrine bottles is proof of a drug lab, I don't doubt there are labs producing methamphetamine in apartments, and condos in my Fairview neighbourhood. We'll know when the side blows off one of the apartment buildings, but, until then, no one's going to complain about pill bottles.
